A recent announcement around the distribution of social grants in South Africa has been welcomed by many, as citizens will have access to their money earlier every month.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) announced that permanent grants will begin to be distributed on the second day of every new month.

Advertising

If the second day falls on a weekend or public holiday, the grant will be distributed on the following working day.
