National Student Financial Aid Scheme: NSFAS is a government entity under the Department of Higher Education, Science and Technology established according to the NSFAS Act (Act 56 of 1999) to provide financial support to disadvantaged students who wish to further their studies at public universities or TVET colleges.

UCT Student Funding: Scholarships 2021

UCT Faculty Entrance scholarship:  are awarded to applicants on the basis of NSC achievement in open and redress pools. For Faculty Entrance Scholarships, redress is determined by an applicant’s disadvantage factor.

UCT Faculty Scholarship:  are awarded to returning students on the basis of academic achievement in open and redress pools. For Faculty Scholarships, redress is determined by self-declared racial identity. (No disadvantage factor is available for 2020 returning students.) NRF Postgraduate Scholarships for 2021: The DSI and NRF are pleased to announce a call of new applications for NRF Postgraduate Student Funding for the 2021 Academic year. All continuing students who are eligible for a second or third year of funding must submit a
