If your R350 SRD grant application status says ‘Self Exclusionary Response Found’, Here’s what this means, and lodge an appeal to SASSA.
The R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant was introduced in 2020 when many South Africans lost their jobs due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) distributes this grant to disadvantaged and unemployed individuals monthly.
After applying for the grant online, applicants are encouraged to check the status of their applications to see if they qualify for the grant.
Suppose your SRD status was ‘Self Exclusionary Response Found’. In that case, it means that your application was declined because information found on your application form indicates that you are already receiving financial support of more than R350 per month.
This status could also mean that information provided on the application indicates that the applicant stays in a government facility and therefore does not qualify for the grant.
Sassa has advised applicants to read the declaration and consent forms carefully before submitting their applications to ensure that they are eligible for the R350 grant.
Applicants can submit an appeal if they get this status, by going to: https://srd.dsd.gov.za/.
The appeal means that SASSA will have to consider your application again.
However, it’s important to remember that applicants only have 30 days after their SRD grant is rejected to submit a R350 grant appeal.
Once you have submitted your SRD appeal, you will then need to track it.
