Applications for the R350 Grant otherwise known as the special Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress grant (SRD grant) opened in August with the purpose of helping the most vulnerable in South Africa. The South African Social Security Agency’s (SASSA) website allows people who applied for the grant to see their application status.
What does Application Complete Means in SASSA SRD?
If you’ve submitted your SRD grant application and your application status is ‘application complete’, this is what it means.
Application completed means that SASSA has all the information they need from you to consider your grant application. Your application will now be verified each month for the SRD R350 grant.
To check your SRD grant application status, follow the steps listed below:
Step 1: Visit the Sassa website at https://srd.sassa.gov.za
Step 2: Scroll down to Application Status
Step 3: Click on ‘Click here to check online’
Step 4: Fill in the required information
After following these steps, you should be able to see your SRD grant application status.
Applications for the SRD grant are still open. More than 13 million people have applied for the relief grant with more than 8 million grants approved by SASSA. Over 3.7 million applications have been declined by SASSA.
If your SRD grant has been declined, you can submit an appeal, Read How to Appeal R350 Grant Rejection | A Step-By-Step Guide.
