The payment dates at the South African Post office (SAPO) for R350 are according to the last three digits of beneficiaries’ ID numbers. Applicants whose payments are ready for collection will be notified immediately through SMS. You are welcome to update your banking details on the SASSA portal to receive your grant in your bank account. Alternatively, you can receive it at Pick n Pay and Boxer stores when you have received the SMS.

Sapo spokesperson Johan Kruger said payout dates are determined by the last three digits of the beneficiary’s ID number. This system was introduced in the first phase of the grants to prevent overcrowding at branches.
