More than eight million people benefit from the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant. However, there will only be one day next week when they will be able to collect their grants from the post office.
The South African Post Office (SAPO) have announced the payment dates for the month of February 2022. The published payment dates reveal that SRD grant recipients will only be able to collect their grants on Friday 11, 2022.
It is also important to note that the last three digits of your Identification number determine on which day you can collect your SRD grant at the post office. Due to there being only one payment day, only people with ID numbers ending in 080 and 085 can collect their grants on Friday.

7 February – No Payment
8 February – No Payment
9 February – No Payment
10 February – No Payment
11 February – 080 and 085

- The Post Office.
- Post Bank/Cash send Services.
- Pick N Pay or Boxer.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has however cautioned SRD grant recipients against using the cash send option. This is because it is not yet available.
