SASSA gives applicants another go at the R350 grant if their applications were denied for a reason that they believe is not fair. This is done through an appeal process.

You can only lodge your SASSA grant appeal within 30 days of seeing your declined status. It’s also important to remember that a SASSA R350 grant appeal must be lodged for every month that the grant is declined.

How do I Appeal For SRD Grant?

  1. Go to the SRD Grant website
  2. Scroll down to ‘Application for reconsideration’
  3. Click on the yellow bar
  4. Fill in the required fields

How do I check SRD grant appeal status?

  1. Go to the SRD Grant website
  2. Scroll down to ‘Click here to apply online or check reconsideration status’
  3. Click on the yellow bar
  4. Fill in the required fields
  5. You will now be able to view your application status

If my SASSA grant relief appeal was successful, how will I know?

Should your SASSA grant appeal have been successful, you will receive an SMS notifying you and you will also be given instructions on what to do next.

It’s important to not that there is no set timeframe for when your appeal will be approved.

When will my grant payment come through?

Payments will be made for the month you originally applied, as long as you qualify. SASSA has said that payments are still in progress.

SASSA explained, “The payment may not necessarily be a double payment/lump sum or on the same day. It can be split over days or weeks”.
