SASSA has made the decision to reinstate the monthly payment of SRD grant after the deadly civil unrest rocked parts of KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng in July.
The R350 Grant will continue to be paid out until the end of March 2022 and has been extended to eligible unemployed caregivers who currently receive a child support grant as well.
Payments can be collected from the South African Post Office (Sapo) from Monday.

089 — Monday October 11, 18 and 25
These dates are applicable to the post office payout system. Beneficiaries can receive their grants as soon as they receive confirmation of payment from Sassa.
SASSA also said:
Every month your application will be checked to verify if you still qualify for the grant. You will be paid each month, provided you still qualify for that month.
This then also means that you only need to submit one SRD grant application.
Should you do a SASSA status check on your R350 grant application and it shows that it is approved with no paydate, it means payment has not been processed yet but will be.
SASSA continues to say, “There is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day. Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed”.
