Admission Requirements

For Degree programs:

The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 4 (Adequate achievement, 50-59%) or better in four subjects chosen from the following recognized 20-credit NSC subjects (known as the ‘designated subject list’). Step 1:  Get your application form.

  • Online Application:
    Undergraduate and postgraduate applicants use the same online application process.
  • Hardcopy Application:
    Apart from the online application, you can request application forms to be sent by post. To request forms, contact the UWC Contact Centre at 021 959 3900.

Step 2:  Complete your application form in full.

Step 3:  Attach all supporting documents.

Step 4:  Complete a student accommodation form.

REQUIREMENT:

  • Applicants must have a valid email address in order to apply online. All communication from the University in regard to your application will be sent via email. Should you not have a valid email address you can create an email account using Gmail, Yahoo Mail, or any other email provider you may prefer.

  • Applicants who have applied for study at UWC and who then wish to apply for UWC RESIDENCE must apply online, click here to apply for UWC Residence. Residence placement is limited and not all applicants can be accommodated. Selection will only be done from those applicants who are made offers of study by the University based on placement criteria and availability of space (not all applicants who have been made an offer to study can be accommodated). Application Fees

There is NO application fee to apply. In order for your application to be considered COMPLETE you must successfully complete the online application form as well as submit all required documentation

Remember you must calculate your APS.

Application Closing dates

The final date for registration will be 03 February 2023, applicants who have accepted an offer to study and who have not registered by this date will forfeit their offer to study. Should your offer have expired you may go to the STUDY OFFER tab and click on the expired offer and accept it(all other programs).
